Environmental
Management

We operate under the highest environmental standards, having received the ANA Blue Certificate on multiple occasions and the highest carbon footprint rating from the Ministry of the Environment.
In 2025, we pioneered the implementation of the first fleet of 50 battery-electric mining trucks in Peru, drastically reducing our emissions.

Climate Change Action Plan of Zijin Mining

We utilize a water balance model developed in GoldSim that incorporates climate variability and climate change scenarios. This model is progressively updated to include preventive and adaptation measures aimed at safeguarding water resource availability for our operations and the surrounding area.

Water Efficiency

We recognize that water is a vital resource. That is why we implement processes to optimize its use, increase recirculation, and ensure that our operations coexist with water availability for communities and the environment.

Solid Waste Management

We minimize waste at the source, ensure proper segregation and temporary storage in our industrial waste transfer area in compliance with regulations, and prioritize recovery (composting and recycling). Our priority waste streams—specifically WEEE and end-of-life tires—are managed through accredited operators and included in collective management systems; through these measures, we drive the circular economy and foster clean, responsible operations.

Participatory Environmental Monitoring

Transparency guides our management: together with the settlements of La Arena, Raumate, and Peña Colorada—which are part of our direct area of social influence—we conduct participatory environmental monitoring of air, noise, water, and soil in partnership with accredited laboratories; in coordination with our communities, we publicly share the results and jointly validate the processes, thereby strengthening trust and fostering continuous improvement.

GHG

We manage our GHG emissions under the Peru Carbon Footprint program—Calculate, Verify, Reduce, and Neutralize—as a framework for continuous improvement. We prioritize the decarbonization of hauling operations by renewing our fleet (50 Tonly electric trucks and 8 XCMG hybrids). This initiative projects a reduction of approximately 18,000 tCO₂e in our overall footprint and will enable zero GHG emissions from direct combustion (Scope 1) specifically for hauling operations carried out with 100% electric trucks.
